Unless you’re bringing a huge suitcase to the gate, chances are no-one will check. Like quantum physics, the rules change once you start talking about smaller sizes. If you simply must weigh your bag in advance, step onto a bathroom scale carrying the bag and then weigh yourself again, without it. Then, just do the math.
