Boss The Scent for Her is Jason Wu’s first major women’s fragrance. And like everything this young designer touches, from lipsticks to dining room tables, it has been a huge success. A combination of honeyed peach, osmanthus blossom and roasted cocoa, with just a hint of freesia, Wu wanted to create something that would stand the test of time.
"There's a permanence to fragrance, from the juice to the bottle to the images," Wu explains. And with For Her, all the elements of the brand’s latest launch feels classic and timeless.
For the fragrance’s unique look, Wu aimed to match the liquid to pale rosé champagne, and the bottle top to Boss’s classic square cufflinks. As with all his work, every single element of a product is important to him.
The brand film was no exception. To tell his story visually, Wu selected German model, Anna Ewers alongside British actor and Divergent star, Theo James in a video directed by acclaimed American auteur, Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream). A slow, sexy dance, the film draws its protagonists closer and closer together until… Well, Wu and Aronofsky leave that to the imagination.
