Yes, it is him. Jamie Dornan, the actor from Northern Ireland who played millionaire Christian Grey in 50 Shades of Grey. Not many people know that before Jamie was an actor, he already had plenty of experience as a model for prestigious international brands like Calvin Klein, Armani, and Levi’s. This year, he joins the Hugo Boss family as an ambassador for the fragrance Boss The Scent.

From Ireland to Hollywood

Dornan was born in County Down near Belfast, Northern Ireland. His mother died when he was only 15 years old. Perhaps this was the reason behind him being sent to boarding school (Methodist College in Belfast), where he spent his teenage years. Whilst a student there, he distinguished himself at rugby and Drama. Soon after, Jamie moved to London to begin his actor training. Very few people know that before his acting career took off, he modelled for Calvin Klein (alongside Kate Moss and Eva Mendes), and Christian Dior, amongst other international labels.

Jamie also played in a band called Sons of Jim. Although fame only arrived after the film 50 shades, one of his most interesting roles was that of Hans Axel von Fersen, Marie Antoinette’s loyal soldier in Sofia Coppola’s film of the same name. Dornan also played the malevolent killer in The Fall TV series.

A leading man and a dad

Despite his previous work as a model, and the success of the film in which he starred with Dakota Johnson that made him into a sex symbol, Dornan refuses to be stereotyped. He is married to pianist and composer Amelia Warner, and they have three daughters, one of them a newborn.

Jamie Dornan keeps his private life out of the media. He has said that being a father is a fundamental part of his wellbeing. “Making my kids happy is a good thing for my wife and me to be driven by,” Dornan explained.

Nevertheless, Jamie is a man of the world. His style icon is Steve McQueen, he loves Pinot Noir, and despite wearing tailored suits, Jamie spends most of his time wearing wellies in the countryside where he lives surrounded by the family dogs.

Boss Man

For me, BOSS represents sophistication, masculinity and elegance.”, the actor recently said in a statement confirming that he is now starring in the campaign for fragrance Boss The Scent, alongside Dutch model Birgit Kos.

A fragrance lover, Dornan says that this is a seductive and masculine scent. An oriental woody EDP created by Bruno Jovanovic and Pascal Gaurin. Top notes include ginger, bergamot and mandarin. You will also find lavender heart notes with a leather and woody base. The perfume bottle features a stylish platinum cage containing crystal, and the fragrance, in deep amber tones.
