Dufry celebrates women in Africa
An unexpected present
Every year on the 8th March, International Women’s Day is celebrated around the world. This is a day of remembrance of women’s struggles for equality, and recognition of the effective exercise of their rights. The 8th March also commemorates the 129 women who died in a fire, at the Cotton Textile Factory in New York. After the fire, the surviving women went on strike and occupied their workplace premises.
To observe this day, Dufry gave flowers to all their staff and female passengers at Agadir, Casablanca, Marrakech and Nairobi airports. This initiative was well received by women travellers, who said they were happy with this surprise gift.
