Holiday like Camila Coelho

4 reasons why you should pack like Camila for your next trip

Influencer Camila Coelho is forever our inspiration when packing ahead of travelling in search of some winter sun. The Brazilian-born beauty has nearly 8 million followers on Instagram watching her every make-up move, and is renowned for her healthy-looking bronzed skin and perfectly applied red pout – aka, the best holiday look ever.

When it comes to holiday make-up, bronzed skin and a red lip are a match made in heaven – and no one pulls off the look quite like Camila. Here’s everything you need to know (including what to pack and Camila’s clever tricks) if you want to channel her bronzed vibes on your next trip.

1. Go Bronze

Camila is rarely spotted without gorgeously glowing bronzed skin. The truth is, all skin tones can benefit from a flush of bronze over the high points on the face on holiday, and very dark skin, in particular, looks incredible with a flash of molten gold over the tops of cheekbones.

Want to capture the Camila bronze on your upcoming trip? You need to pack a medium-cover BB or CC cream (that also contains SPF), and a liquid and powder bronzer one or two shades deeper than your own skin tone.

Camila swears by the benefits of dampening skin with a face mist before applying her base, and always blends her liquid bronzer (we love Lancôme Star Bronzer Intense Pencil) onto the tops of her cheekbones with a damp make-up sponge. Not one to do things by half, she then intensifies her bronze by buffing a powder bronzer over the top, into the hollows of her cheeks for additional contour, over her eyelids (to add definition), under her chin and onto her temples. The effect is an all-over subtly sun-kissed bronze.

2. Drink Up

Flying long-haul can leave skin feeling parched, so follow Camila’s rehydration tips. When speaking with Net-a-Porter’s PORTER Edit, she said she likes to upgrade her water with “a slice of lemon, 1tsp of cinnamon and a few slices of ginger. It accelerates metabolism, keeps my skin clear and helps to burn fat.” While this isn’t necessarily the easiest thing to do on a flight, it is a great way to treat yourself – and your skin – upon arriving at your destination.

3. Rock a Red Lip

A red lipstick must be afforded space in your make-up bag when on holiday – it’s the perfect pairing to freckled, sun-kissed skin. Camila is a vocal fan of a red lip, but if the idea of bright lipstick scares you, worry not, there is a perfect shade of red out there for everyone.

Take the selection process a little easier, Camila has collaborated with Lancôme to produce a collection of 10 shades. She designed the Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge x Camila Coelho collection alongside Lancôme Global Makeup Creative Director, Lisa Eldridge.

“Partnering with such an iconic beauty brand that’s been a part of my life since I was young has been so special to me,” says Camila. “Being involved in the process from the very beginning – from the initial brainstorming to creating the actual formulas and lipstick shades – was a unique learning experience that really opened my eyes to the time and creativity it takes to produce the make-up I wear every day! It was an honour to visit the Lancôme labs in Paris alongside the legendary Lisa Eldridge while we perfected each lipstick until it was exactly what we envisioned, from shade, finish and consistency.”

To rock your lip, first line the perimeter of your mouth with Lancôme Le Lip Liner 06 Rose Thé before filling in the space with your chosen lipstick. Blot, then apply a second layer. This will ensure your lipstick stays put all day, even in the sunshine.

4. Don't Forget to Mask

Camila knows that sheet masks are a brilliant addition to your suitcase when you’re travelling. They take up almost no room at all and breathe new life into travel- and sun-weary skin. Camila told PORTER The Edit: “Face masks are non-negotiable during and post-flight to restore all the lost moisture.” Before boarding your flight, head to duty free, where you can stock up on Lancôme Génifique Hydro Mask Set.
