Smouldering hot looks for summer
Hot trends and products to give you maximum results for minimum effort.
This summer is all about asserting your own individuality naturally, but with a look that is as bold as it is beautiful. This really means trying really hard to make it look like you didn’t try very hard at all - and it’s easier said than done. Here are 4 tips to ensure that wherever you land this summer, your look will be absolutely on trend.
Colour blocking, grungy glitter, holographic Perspex, bold black eyeliner, cat eyes with colour... the list goes on. The common thread is taking a childlike approach to the eyes, using bold strokes with a jet-black eye pencil. Clump on the glitter. Start and end your cat flick wherever you want, and add a touch of colour to the tail. Have fun. If bold is just not your thing, you can try 'Tea stain eyes' by adding a soft chestnut or rosy (but not pink) dusting around the eyes.

Big colours are back - especially reds and orange corals. High shine with maximum hydration is also increasingly popular, but take it easy on the lip liner. This season you actually want to blur the edges for that diffused look. Put away your lip pencil and save your nudes and mattes for next season (or upgrade your matte to a moisturizing matte!).

Short hair is definitely back in -perfect for summer. For those who want to keep with longer locks, a semi-wet look is the way to go. A touch of gel can give you that slicked-back,‘back from the beach’ look favoured by the likes of Kyle Jenner. If tied back is more your style, feel free to join in the hairclip revival and tie all or part of your tresses back with a bold hair accessory. Hair bands and even crowns, are also in, in, in!

The Korean trend of ‘glassing’ is now catching on everywhere. Similar to currant lip-gloss looks, it’s big on hydration as you’re looking for a natural glass-like sheen for your skin. The key here is not to overdo it. You’re aiming for dewy, not sweaty. And, (although this should goes without saying) don’t forget the sunscreen.
