ENJOY LIFE WHILE TRAVELLING

Strawberry Cream Martini

Nature has blessed us with culinary combinations that simply put are already perfect and will likely never be improved upon. Strawberries and cream are one of those combinations. While it is unlikely that we can make this simple dish better in flavour, we can convince ourselves that we have indeed improved it better by adding libations. Add 1 oz. Grey Goose Vodka and 2 oz. Bailey’s Strawberries and Cream to a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice, shaking well and then pouring the mixture over two generous scoops of strawberry ice cream. To finish and impress your friends, garnish with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, and a few mint leaves, and you have a delicious treat. This recipe can very easily be turned into a milkshake by adding all ingredients to a blender and adding milk and maybe an ounce or two more of the Grey Goose and Bailey’s.

Lemon Lime Ice Cream Float

We have all heard of and enjoyed the classic Root beer Float, and don’t worry, we’ll get there, but this crisp, citrusy version is perfect for a cool refreshing treat after a long day in the sun. Start by adding two scoops of vanilla ice cream to a tall glass. Then pour 2 oz. Absolut Citron, and 2 oz. Bottega Limoncino over the ice cream. Finally, fill the remainder of the glass with lemon-lime soda such and garnish with fresh or candied lemon and lime rounds.

Gin and Tonic Float

A gin and tonic is one of the simplest, and most delicious cocktails ever created. But what if you added sorbet? In a rocks glass, start by making your gin and tonic: add 2 oz. Edinburgh Gin to 4 oz. tonic. Next, gently drop a rounded scoop of lemon or lime sorbet into the cocktail. Finally, squeeze the juice from half of a lime over top and garnish with a lime wedge. For a rush of raspberry, substitute sorbet with raspberry sorbet or black raspberry ice cream, and top with 1 oz. Edinburgh Gin Raspberry Liqueur and fresh raspberries and blackberries.

Orange Dreamsicle Float

Orange creamsicles are a classic treat for children so when nostalgia strikes, this is the recipe for you. The best thing about this recipe is that nearly all ingredients are based on your preference (and what you have on hand on your bar and in your freezer.)

Start by adding two scoops of ice cream to a tall glass. You choose the ice cream, which could be vanilla, orange sherbet, or even orange and vanilla swirl. Next, pour in 2 oz. Grey Goose Le Citron (classic Grey Goose works just as well too). Finally, fill the remainder of the glass with your favourite orange soda (we like a nice Italian soda), and top with whipped cream and fresh orange zest.

Adults Only Classic Root Beer Float

This classic dessert drink consists of two ingredients; root beer and vanilla ice cream. While the classics are classics for a reason, this recipe plays to the depth of complex flavours found in the root beer itself. Root beer is sweet with hints of caramel and brown sugar but then has a bitter earthiness giving it its signature flavour. By using 2 scoops of Dulce de Leche topped with 2 oz. Captain Morgan Black Spiced Rum, the ice cream enhances the sweet smoky caramel flavour of the root beer, and the vanilla from the spiced rum accentuates similar flavours found in the soda.
